Benjamin Straker, Sr., serves as Board Chair and District 9 Representative on the Clayton County Board of Education, a position he has held since his 2015 election. A longtime resident of the Rex community and a parent of two Clayton County Public Schools graduates, Mr. Straker is committed to advancing academic excellence, transparency, and strong community engagement across the district.

With more than 20 years of experience in community leadership and advocacy, his career includes work with elected officials in New York City on community initiatives and public education campaigns. Mr. Straker holds a Master of Business Administration from Clayton State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bernard Baruch College of the City University of New York. His leadership focuses on strengthening governance, supporting students and families, and ensuring continued progress for Clayton County Public Schools.
